Just watched its modern version. And very impressed.
As good as its earlier version with Alan Badel. (Dirty old men like me will remember his attractive daughter Sarah.)
By the way, Mr Rattigan's script wasn't too bad.

The only version I've seen is the 1948 film with Robert Donat.
It's a great film,and probably less stilted and formal than the earlier version.
BTW your lust person Sarah is now 73.
She played the part of the murderer in an episode of Midsomer Murders. It must have been 10 or more years ago so she would have been in her 60s then but looked nowhere near that old.
I don't look 70,but then I have no mirrors in the house! LOL
