With views as trenchant as the mayor's, I would have thought any encouragement from Griffin and Dowson would be superfluous..
The article states that the new legislation bans public displays of affection by gay people.

Shouldn't there be more detail here?

Does it include a peck on the cheek? A hug goodbye on the doorstep on the way to work? Holding hands?

I see a problem here.
Sp1814 - the lawyers have much to question I reckon.

SP....this why this will be stopped in the Courts.

/// you will have noticed, as others have missed, that it just isn't Muslims, but gay people as well that are being discriminated against here. ///

If at first bigotry and 'racism' doesn't work try another word 'homophobia'.
AOG - // If at first bigotry and 'racism' doesn't work try another word 'homophobia'. //

It's not 'trying another word'.

All three words have individual meanings, so it's not a case of trying another word for one of the others
He's behind you aog. (^_*)
Does it make one a bigot if one does not choose to live next door to a travellers site, or to have one at the bottom of one's garden?

Or does it only work if Muslims are concerned?
/// Back to the subject, I see there are two muslim families living in the village who have integrated very well and are welcome to stay. Perhaps if they all did that there wouldn't be people feeling the need to create a (nearly) all white village. ///

Colour doesn't come into it, since not all Muslims are dark skinned.

Neither does racism, since Muslims are not a race.

It is strictly about a clash of culture along with life style.

Choosing to live, or not to live, anywhere does not make someone a bigot.

A bigot is intolerant towards an entire grouping of people.

You can have reservations about the behaviour of a local traveller community, but adopting a position that all travellers are trouble simply because they are travellers, and based on nothing else, makes you a bigot.

Of course, bigotry is a broad church, and it is possible to be bigoted about an entire range of social, religious and ethnic groups.

Some prefer to narrow down their bile for one particular section of the world's population - say, Muslims for instance.

I cannot believe I am telling you something you do not already know, but since you asked, I have answered.
Good God, that I don't believe exists, why do such liberals expect everyone to be so tolerant and obliging?

When liberalism is forced on people, when liberalism is rammed down their throats, when liberalism calls you all sorts of derogatory names for wanting a peaceful existence in the environment you know and love is when Bretix happens. It is when Trump wins. It is when towns, country's or maybe even continents take back control

Haven't the liberals learnt anything yet? Haven't they learned that if they really think they are so all knowing, that they are so right and everyone else is just not there yet, that they CANNOT force it?

The more you shout BIGOT, RASIST, ZENOPHOBE or any of the other shouty belittling names you like to bandy around to prove you are better the more you drive away and into the very area you so despise.
^Nice one, cassa.
I wish the Mayor and people of the remote village of Asotthalom all the best and hope they prosper - many will be glad to know not to bother going.

Including me.

If they wish to close themselves down they can, barring legal input of course.
