Oh well here we go again that's the holiday costs and holiday insurance premiums going up.
Claim, claim, claim, the world we live in. I recently read a quote which seems to apply at the moment which is :-

"Our society is plagued by an appalling culture of entitlement"

So sad but seems true.

Am I right in thinking that you don't think people should be compensated if something out of their control messes there holiday up...food poisoning etc?

IF and only If it is genuine I have no problem on people claiming for food poisoning whilst on holiday, many recent reports of people fraudently claiming and feel companies like this only encourage it.
I'd assume they'd have to have some sort of proof. It's often the case that quite a few people get food poisoning from the same hotel.

Some people save up all year for a holiday but spend the majority of it in really really ill. It must be devastating.

What other things were you thinking about?

Like I said I have no problems on the genuine cases. It is known that in Spain and Cyprus there are people ( like the time share sellers) that approach holiday makers and inform them how to get their holiday costs back by claiming like this. I personally do not think this is to be encouraged. I understand that the hoteliers are in the process of collating the info on all the claims to find out the names of doctors, solicitors etc to find out the frequency of their reports. This hopefully will bring an end to this.
