I am tryin to remove a faulty alternator from my 406. The top bolt slides out easily to the right, but the bottom bolt hits coolant pipes against the inside of the body to the left. I can't see how to get this bolt out. Can anyone help, PLEASE.

Sounds like you'll have to drain the coolant system and remove the pipes in question.
i think you will find that you only need to slide the bottom bolt as far as you can to the left cause the alternator has a slot in it as opposed to a hole.
