Could Anyone Explain Why A 15 Year Old Girl Would Allegedly Brutally Stab A Poor Innocent 7 Year Old?

Agchristie this is precisely my point.
If no-one lets their kiids walk home then no-one is safe because the odd child will be isolated but if we all let our kids walk home, like we used to do then the only fear is from the local shopkeepers who dread the hour the clock strikes 3.
Anyway, that's not the main point, the main point I was trying to make is this is too soon for a forum that will show up in any google search.
I realise that's only my opinion because I am closer to it than say Naomi or AOG because I live nearer to it tha they do so my view is more subjective .

Quizproquo - In an ideal world kids of today should be able to roam and play freely without any cares or fears. Sadly, our streets are less safer. Some parents may be over cautious and wrap their child(ren) up in cotton wool but who can really blame them?
It is almost an exercise in risk management and complacency does exist. As rare as these occurences are, you only have to be unlucky once.
Regarding your main point though, this case is being discussed all over social media and in public. Just yesterday whilst in town I heard grown adults making ridiculous assertions that are unprintable here. As I mentioned, in an ideal world....

If you're talking about weight of road traffic I'd agree, but if it is to do with violence and the risk of child molestation/assault I disagree. The latter have been just as rife as decades ago afaic, in fact I'd wager that there is more awareness and help on hand if it is seen that there is something going on, especially as most street corners are bristling with CCTV cameras.
IMO young children are no more at risk traveling to and from places today as they were ten twenty or thirty years ago.

According to the latest reports I’ve read, the perpetrator was being treated for mental illness and called the police herself to tell them the little girl was dead. Apparently her mother reported her missing 45 minutes before she was found.
For the record, like agchristie, I wouldn’t let a 7 year old walk to and from school without adult supervision either. You do it if you want to. That’s up to you.

First point, don't bank on it. Depends on the type of incident and whether you think the perpetrator is armed. Secondly, most street corners are certainly not bristling with CCTV cameras, even in close proximity to schools and even then you have to hope they are operating in the right direction.

ag, I agree with you. Answeprancer appears to assume that everyone lives in the centre of town where CCTV is the norm.
