Has anybody noticed that Andrex seems to have changed and become poorer quality. Don't know when it happened as we buy in bulk when it's on offer, we then pile them in a store cupboard and don't always rotate our stock. Interested in your opinion and recommendations on alternatives. Feels like we are going back to Bronco, that shows my age.

The stuff supplied by the RAF had every sheet stamped 'Government Property'. I once entertained the notion of saving up all the used ones and posting them back to Harold Wilson.
If you suffer with a itchy bum then a rough bog roll helps scratch the itch!
Eddie, subtle as ever.
Reminds me of an old joke
An Asian moan goes into the corner shop and asks what price the toilet rolls are. The shopkeeper says 'I have Andrex rolls at £2,50 for a pack of 4. Or I have these cheap plain packed rolls at £1 a pack.
The customer asks '' but what is the name of the cheap rolls?''
The shopkeeper replies , if you can think of a good name for them I'll let you have a dozen packs for free, a good name will help me sell them.
The customer takes one pack of the unnamed rolls and promises to come back when he has thought of a good name for them.
A few days later the asian customer is back. He says ''I think you should call these toilet rolls 'John Wayne '''
''Thats a strange name for a loo roll'' says the shopkeeper ''why did you think of that''
The asian gent replies '' Well there are rough, they are tough and they don't take sh** off Indians''
Asian Man sorry !
Anyone remember the greaseproof wrapper on a loaf of bread circa 1958? I remember as a lad trying to "use" it when out camping. Not to be recommended.
Do you mean the wax paper wrapping?
Then there was the instructions on how to "tidy up" in an emergency using just a bus ticket, from my days in the scouts. Method, fold the ticket twice, tear off corner and retain, unfold ticket and poke your finger through hole. Use the ticket as you take from your finger to wipe it. Use corner to clean your finger nail. (^_*)
That's the stuff Jackdaw, it used to polish the slide up a treat on the council playground though.
All brands of bog roll are poor quality. You don't have much option than to choose one so the manufacturers have no incentive to invest on making something that is more than half decent. IIRC Charmin wasn't too bad when it first hit the market but after grabbing market share it's quality gradually fell to the level of others and below; and then it changed it's name. And if you dare use the moist types then the sewerage companies complain their sewers can't cope. Makes one wonder what century we're living in.
Had a collection of the tracing paper stuff stamped with the names of London Boroughs
