My mobile is being inundated with calls from AB every time someone replies on my thread
How can I stop this?

Do you mean calls or e-mails? if e-mails go into your profile, click 'edit profile' and make sure the box 'subscribe to all my own questions' is unticked. Or if it's just 1 of your questions click unsubscribe at bottom right as Gromit says.

Isn't there an option in Profiles regarding subscribing to one's own threads?

As Prudie says: Go to Profile>Edit my profile and make sure the box 'Subscribe to all my own questions' is unticked.
