......was my unexpected bliss tonight.......

My host is emptying his freezer....probably to make room for left over turkey......so tonight's offering was some forgotten faggots......

I was then invited to "have a look" at...The Grand Tour....which he had recorded....(gone are the....would you like to see my etchings?...days...:-(

Having a look meant watching the whole programme.......and I loved it.....
Always liked the relationship between the three guys.....love the cars.....and the faggots were jolly good too.......☺

If I remember correctly savoury ducks/faggots were already cooked so could be eaten cold.

Don't fancy that, Jack.....or was that without the gravy?
Without. I used to buy them for my lunch from the pork shop over the road. That was 50 years ago when I was a sprog.

They have, Jack......I loved raw black pudding when I was a child...but it's not the same these days...... :-(
My great grandfather used to have a black pudding shop in Leicester in the early 1900s. Sadly the recipe was never passed on, otherwise I might have become a millionaire, ha ha.

Bet it was lovely black pudding, Helly....not all crumbly and spicy...x
Hi gness.....Please forgive me if I am being pedantic. I know what you mean by 'raw black pudding'....as it's bought. In actual fact I feel sure you will already know that it has already been cooked and can be eaten cold.

Gretel and I are very fond of Black Pud (hot or cold) and will put slices of it in home made pizzas.......cheap pizza bases upon which we build-up with all sorts of ingredients.

Cheers Hans.☺☺☺
Question Author
Ah thanks, Hans.....I'd guess it was cooked otherwise it'd be mushy but was often told it had to be cooked before I ate it.....but I couldn't resist....

Maybe my mother just wanted it to last long enough to be cooked and not have me eating it as soon as it was bought.....☺
Wikipedia says the following about the delicacy :-
