Eli Whalley made donkey stones and when the factory closed it the 1970s the machinery was dismantled and is now housed at the museum.

I know definitely that a man was selling donkey stones at the Ashton under Lyne market 3 years or so ago. I don't know that he still is.

The museum may sell them though.
Bought one last year in the museum part of Oswaldtwistle Mills in Lancashire. They may post you one. Good Luck
