how many steps (approx) on a pedometer for an average sized woman would the reading be for walking 26.2 miles?

The average stride is around 2'6.

5280 feet in one mile = 2112 steps

2112 x 26 = 54,912 steps

.2 miles = 410 steps

So it would be 55323 steps, approximately.

Aren't you supposed to calibrate pedometers, as people's strides vary hugely?


Mine was 83cm, the wife's 79cm.
