I was caned at my school the first time the whole class got just one each, the second was two in the gymn for dirty shoes! Then I was given six of the best for a misdemenoor in class. All were bent over touching toes on my trousers all didn't hurt much for five minutes but then it was throbbing agony the bruises lasted a month. I think it died out in the 80's mores the pity.

Hi I am 37, I think they stopped caning in most schools late eighties, but the private ones still kept CP. This faded out in the nineties. I had the cane at school, and it was mostly for the really silly things, like looking at my watch to find out the date when I didn't think the headmaster (primary school) was looking during his assembly hall chat or for being late. The most memorable one was in second school and I got six stingers from my form tutor (who also happened to be the gym mistress, very fit, very sexy) in front of the 4th form girls netball team, trousers and pants down! @Le Chat: A close female friend of mine went to Scarisbrick Hall in the late 1980s and she told me that corporal punishment was still in use there in 1988/89. Boys were caned by the headmaster (Mr Raynor), whilst girls in serious trouble would get the slipper - administered by the School Secretary. Being naturally inquisitive I asked if she'd ever got "it". She denied that she had, but conceded that she'd come close a few times. However, she seemed to know an awful lot about how the slipper (or cane for boys) would already be out on the desk when you were shown in, and that girls had to get on to the desk before being slippered on the thighs.....
