Let's try that again:

Maybe what Labour need is not a new Blair but a new Mandelson.
Mikey, //I am on record here on AB for calling on Corbyn to step down.//

You are also on record here for saying that Corbyn is suitable Prime Minister material.

A new Mandelson? God save us.
He has to get Mandelson's okay first. :)
I do so mourn Tony Benn & the real Labour Party
So I take a large wheelbarrow of salt when any doom merchants predict the demise of Labour.

Fatal error there mikey. Salt in in large doses is very bad for you, a bit like Labour under JC. It's almost as if they're on a suicide mission to implode and senior members and former leaders (Kinnock, Hain) are in deep despair about it.
according to JC and the Corbynistas (good name for a sixties pop band eh?), labour are looking at electoral victory in 2020. the theory runs that under blair, brown and milliband, many voters who used to, or would have, voted labour, gave up on politics altogether. now that the labour party has re-found its socialist roots, this unseen army will rise up and sweep the new left leaning labour party to a resounding victory.

allegedly.

Mushroom, stop it please, my sides are seriously hurting from all this laughter.
"Jezza walks it" and confines HMs official opposition to the dustbin of history. The always excellent dominic sambrook has written a great essay confirming this sad state of affairs.
"I agree with Andy Burnham, when he was interviewed on the Today Program this morning.....the Parliamentary Labour Party should either back him, or shut up altogether. "#

It's alright for Andy Burnham mikey: he's getting the hell out :-)

We definitely need some of the old Shadow Cabinet back though, because, and I am sorry to say this, the current one is a joke.
The whole shebang is a joke. How anyone can take them seriously is beyond me.
So far this is the only thing in politics in 2016 that hasn't surprised me.
