I can't see how some of the unclued pair together - any help please?

I have 4 pairs.
35d with 31a; 36D with 5a; 20a with 15d; 37a with 19d.
I have no idea what the title or the preamble has to do with these pairs.
A name (two words) somehow connect all of them.

I still have not solved 34d.

I haven't got 5a or 36d yet please. I can see a pair that would fit the letters but how they connect to a name ???

My pairs are guesses based on the available letters. ?A?T and ?E?P?R.

Interesting - am also struggling with theme. Have completed grid, and think I have the 4 pairs but any suggestions as to determining the "constituent parts of a name" most welcome!

someone on the other forum has speculated:
well known place, extra star chip grey.

I don't know what that means. Could it be a London location?

Chip would be logical circuit.
Salt and pepper will be grey.
Star is SB and Central casting could give extra.
