Would it not make sense that criminals vehicles were seized and sold when caught out thieving.
Then they should be given a tag and a curfew?

any property deemed to be the result of profit through crime..ie houses cars etc are often recovered after large drugs busts !
They rarely actually own the cars they use, so not a lot of point. Tags are often used normally when someone gets early release from prison.
Tags are virtually useless any way. My next door neighbor was 'tagged' for 2 months. It made no difference to him going out. The only way they can check is to send some one to the house where the 'taggee' is supposed to be living. They have a 'detector' that looks like a mobile phone, it picks up the signal from the tag and tells them if the person is there or not.
It is rare for a tagged person to actually get checked, they only checked once on my neighbor. They don't even knock on the door if they do not get a signal, just report it to the police who are always too busy to do anything.
Eddie - I lived with someone on tag!! They do check on them quite often and randomly.

They have a telephone type thing in their room and if the tagged person goes out of range the phone will ring. They'll turn up any time from curfew time to midnight. One time my tagged cousin was asleep in his locked bedroom when they turned up and I couldn't wake him...I was told to wake him or they'll have to break in!

Sinderella...Most organised criminals have their assets in other peoples names so it makes it difficult to seize them.
