I obtained a parking ticket from the machine and put it in window of car. When I shut the door of the car it must have made the ticket drop on my car seat so it wasnt displayed. *** law, Mr Ticketman came round and booked me for not displaying ticket. I have since written to them and enclosed the ticket I bought which shows the time and reg of vehicle. the meanies have refused to cancel the charge as it wasnt clearly displayed! The letter states if I am not satisfied with the decision then to wait until a notice to owner comes in the post. It says you cant appeal to the Independant Adjudicator until this notice of owner has been issued and formal representations rejected. So in English does that mean I do noting until this notice of owner is sent to me and then I can appeal?

Is it a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) from a Traffic Warden or a Ticket from a Private Company?
Same Q as Motley?
The danger is the penalty might increase if you lose. If it's from a private parking company then tell them to shove it...

Unfortunately its a council one
appeal

The link Motley gave refers to private car parking invoices, uncletom has been issued a fixed penalty by the council

Uncle Tom, that happened to me a couple of years ago. I sent my ticket to the council department and they waived the fine.
That's as maybe, but those rules are irrelevant here.

uncletom, you can do nothing until you get the notice of owner. When you do get it, appeal to the Independent Adjudicator and keep your fingers crossed.
Yep, wait for the notice and appeal. The exact same thing happened to us in a council car park and the penalty was dropped.

Bring back the sticky tickets I say! They never fell off the windscreen.
