2xAA but you can't swap them about with AAA and they do come in differing strengths eg heavy duty or long-life

No what I wanted to know

The strength or longevity of when in use - you know in radios etc.

Well as said it can depend on which brand/strength you buy. if this is about choosing a radio to buy my bathroom radio takes 2 x AA. It's on for about 20 minutes every day and probably needs new batteries about every 3 or 4 months.
If I'm on the wrong lines just ignore me.

I was wondering what you meant by "stronger". Different battery types have different mAhr capacities.
