I have a 120 watt 5 channel Sony amplifier, Bose 301 front speakers and will be getting a mission centre. I am a student, so dont have money to burn, however would like to get a subwoofer. Which sub should i get, preferably passive, as im thinking it would have been a waste of an amp if i get an active one.

Well first off a passive sub is a poor choice as it wont give you the flexiblity to contour the level of bass in the audio mix so unless your amp has a dedicated subwoofer channel which has an independany volume control I would opt for the active route.....as always in the field of quality Hi-Fi I can do no better than point you in the direction of Richer Sounds who have an excellent selection of subs (all active) from 50 which is well within your budget right up to 300..... have a click here for details http://www.richersounds.co.uk/index.php?f=itemlist
