Faulty Laptop Cooling Fan

I just realised my laptop cooling fan doesn't work anymore. Anyone had this problem with their laptop fan died but the the laptop still works?


I'm wondering how common is this kind of fault in laptops.

I would say it's fairly common for a number of reasons ;


the fan is smaller, the laptop gets warmer than your average PC so the fan has a lot of work to do, the laptop is more likely to ingest dust due to the environments it's used in.


They can be a pig to get at but important to get replaced/repaired as it could easily reduce the life of the laptop.

What is the make/model of your laptop?

Thanks for your replies. My laptop is a Medion MD9326 it's about six years old, but it serves me well.
I suggest you get it repaired before the next heatwave...

you can by external fans on ebay about �7-8
