Why is the soil of Australia red and does this red soil appear in any other country?

It is red because of iron oxide caught in the soil particles. Many countries have this. Devon is known for it, as are large areas of kenya, some of the Mendips....
I BELIEVE THAT THE RED SOIL IS FROM HIGH IRON CONTENT IN THE SOIL. AND YES I HAVE SEEN THAT IN INDIA ALSO AT THE RED FORT IN NEW DELHI.
I believe parts of Argentina has red soil. Hunstanton, Norfolk has unusual red chalk cliffs.
