No. I have just received his military records and it states that he received the 1939-1943 Star, but that his France/Germany Star and Defence Medal were unclaimed.

Granddad died in 1993.
You can, but unfortunately I cannot tell you how. My Mum applied successfully for my Step Fathers's after his death, to send out to his son in Australia.
