Radio 4 recently announced that six Angela Carter novels were to be re-issued. Does anyone know which titles and could you please recommend one in particular?

I recently read Nights At The Circus and adored it.

The only book of hers I have ever read is The Infernal Desire Machines of Doctor Hoffman so am not much help.
Vintage Publishers

I have two of Angela Carters books - 'The Passion of New Eve' and her book of short stories 'The Bloody Chamber and other stories'.

I enjoyed both of these particularly 'The Passion of New Eve'. She is a very feminist writer so not to everyone's taste. 'The Bloody Chamber and other stories' is Carters versions of classic fairy tales.

The first book of hers' I read was 'Heroes and Villains' - a wonderful dystopic fantasy. Its set in a post-apocalyptic world. Some reviews from the cover:
'exotic and extravagant....touchingly erotic...a name to add to the short list of contemporaries worth watching'
'original, talented, disturbing...the vision is so complete and so finely imaginative'
'particularly original...as is the mind behind it, the intensity with which it breathes life into the idea. You live it, see it, smell it, become totally involved with it.'
