... sadly (unless you are able to actually watch everything live) it is currently being seriously compromised by unthinking thread titles (let alone the content of the first post) here on AB.

I'm currently quite busy during the day time, so am recording most events for evening digestion - but so far this week I've had a couple of Euro 2016 matches, the Austrian GP, some Wimbledog tennis and a stage of the TdF ruined (or at least my enjoyment curtailed) because someone just can't think of others before posting a thread.

Don't give me the 'just don't look then' eyewash - it ought to be possible for me to have a quick gander at CB and News without seeing blatant results showing in Latest Posts.

PLEASE STOP DOING IT - AB is losing enough members as it is, without driving even more away with thoughtless posting of sports results. A nice anodyne title, some non-committal stuff in the original post & then just fire away in subsequent posts - anyone who is reading at that point wants to know.

You want us not to discuss sports events as they happen\finish becausde your busy during the day ? :-)

You are either being deliberately obtuse or a bit slow, anne ...

Discuss away - just don't put the result in the thread title where it is so immediately visible to people who may not have yet seen the event.
LOL .
Dave, there are quite a few sports fans here, but not a lot of sports chat. I think it's fun to comment on matches here as they happen.
I don't think we are guilty Dave, anyway I must have missed the 'Summer of Sport'
Ok, I see your point about results in the title.
I see your point, s-d. At the moment however, that would be a bit difficult when there is soooooo much sport going on.

Yesterday, I deliberately didn't watch the News or come on here, in case I found out who won the Austrian GP.

I certainly agree with the titles of posts, Not including the outcomes of events.
I suppose it isn't funny if you've recorded to sit and enjoy an evening of sport and you see the results in latest posts....especially if you work during the day.

If you're interested in a variety of sport then you'd have to stay pretty well cocooned all summer to not see the result but good manners on AB wouldn't hurt and it is really easy to start a thread and have a long discussion without giving results away to somebody who hasn't had the luxury of watching live....that'd be nice, wouldn't it?..x
Many years ago in Germany a friend of ours made a point of not knowing the Cup Final result before Monday's broadcast, except as the programme started, the opening titles showed the captain holding up the trophy!
My friends lift!e boy said to his dad "" I not allowed to tell you what your getting for Christmas, but its red and you put your golf clubs in it ""
Anyone remember the sketch the likely lads did about this?
Challenge the word Summer
Yes, I do psybb. A classic. So funny.
I can see where your'e coming from sunny-dave

This post heading last sunday flashing up in latest post rather spoilt it for me , given that i had recorded the race for consumption later .

''F1, Well Done Lewis....''

It is very easy to start a thread with a heading that does not give the game away .

In this instance - something simply like ' F1' for the heading would not have told me that Hamilton had won the race

I would just stay away from " sports" topic .
england 4 west germany 2 after extra time, hat trick by hurst

//I would just stay away from " sports" topic .//

That's just being silly

In any event the post i referred to above - i saw it come up in 'latest posts' - i was not in the sports section
Fair point B. Stay away from AB ?
I agree, SD. Shouldn't take too much imagination to think of a thread title that doesn't give the result.
Wouldnt it be easy to type

"Great Grand Prix Result (spoiler follows)" in the title? Then blah blah "Lewis Hamilton brilliant" in the actual text?

You can work out who has won most stuff just by reading the latest posts box.
