Just been shopping and received a 50p coin in my change with a picture of Peter Rabbit on the reverse side. Lady on the till said they were worth more than face value so to check my change in future in case I got any more. Got home and googled them and they are for sale on Ebay at £20/£25 and if you find one with the picture of Peter Rabbit, Squirrel Nutkin, Jemima Puddleduck or Mrs Tiggywinkle in colour then they are asking up to £600 for them. Check your change carefully.

i think you would immediatel;y see it as they are coloured aren't they?
I think the coloured ones are collection sets and not for general circulation so I doubt you'd get one in your change.
It's my guess that the one which you have had in change is a standard run of the mill item and is unlikely to be worth more than a few pence above its face value. As a starter it is Not in what is deemed to be 'Mint Condition' because it is Not in its original case and has been in circulation, which will have put downgrading marks/scratches onto it.

I hope I am wrong and you have a valuable coin because the Royal Mint is still advertising standard ones for £10 each.
