Does anyone have a recipe for cranakin? Want to do this tonight as part of Burn's supper for friends.

Never made it before but this is from my recipe book. Double cream, Coarse oatmeal, Caster sugar, Rum or vanilla. Toast some oatmeal lightly in the oven or thick-bottomed frying pan.Beat a bowlful of cream to a stiff froth, and stir in a handful or two of the oatmeal, making it not too substantial, ie the cream must predominate. Sweeten to taste, and flavour with rum or vanilla essence. Throw in a few handfuls of fresh berries. ie blaeberries, raspberries, brambles, or others. It sounds quite nice I might try it myself. By the way it's spelt cranachan in my book.
Here's a slightly different version with a pretty picture to go with it. http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/usrecipes/cr

cheers very much Molly (and also for the spelling, which I knew was wrong but couldn't remember what it was).
