My friend is being hounded by Social Services and has told them on the telephone that she is fine and does not require any help or assistance. They even sent a policeman round when she was out having lunch with us, her friends, he came back later and said he had been sent by social services to see that she was OK and he said he would happily telephone them back as he could see I was alright. What my friend wants to know is how would she word a letter to tell social services that she does not require or need there help and put it politely without losing her temper. She asked them why they were bothering her but they refused to say. She is very angry and upset because the neighbours will be gossiping about them being at the door. How they can hound old people like this is awful, just because we are old it does not mean we are not capable.

How about. . .
Dear sirs.
Whilst I sincerely appreciate your offers of help and assistance, and also the visit if a local police officer to check on me, it would be even more appreciated if you would kindly leave me alone until called for as I am perfectly capable of looking after myself.
I do not know who instigated these unwanted visits but I shall be forced to make an official complaint if they continue.
I repeat. I am fit, well and capable and have no current need for any help or assistance from the Local Council.

Yours sincerely.

Wak's letter is excellent but if it was me I would be using words like "paying attention to gossip" "unwarranted interference" and "statutory meddling" but then i would have no desire whatever to be polite!!

Thank you both, my friend is biting her lip to remain polite, I will pass what you said Wak.
I am guessing she is Boxy
I hadn't seen the earlier letter but even if I had it's no use being nasty to the Council people as they are only doing their job and because people in certain Councils didn't "pay attention to gossip" in the recent past, a few helpless children lost their lives.
You can't have it both ways.
Indeed Wak, but in this circumstance, these Council Workers seem to have stepped wayyyyyyy over the line.
I think that to use the service for writing essays personal choice. On http://academicwritingweb.com/college-essay-writing/
