I have watched virtually all the Jonathan Creek stories, and am enjoying the latest (last?) series now but ...

I find Sarah Alexander seriously mis-cast as Mrs Creek.

The whole point of his original persona was that he was - to quote Maddie Magellan 'frighteningly single' and obviously quirky and insular.

How does he go from that to some ill-defined yuppy job complete with smart offices, and a gorgeous wife like S.A.?

How are they supposed to have even met, much less loved each other enough to marry?

JC's character appears utterly unchanged, apart from ditching the duffle coat and jeans for suits - so how has this come about?

I know it is a drama, but things like this bother me. I am torn between deeply envying JC for snaring such a gorgeous-looking woman as Mrs Creek (those eyes ... those legs ... that voice ...) but how?

I like Jonathan Creek. However, I saw an episode with her in and it just doesn't gel. Jonathan Creek can't be married. It's just all wrong. Whatever were the writers thinking?!!
Never watched it, but I guess it proves that here is at least one person somewhere for everyone, and we all have a chance of hitting a jackpot.

I'm with you Naomi.

Actually, it's one writer - David Renwick, who also wrote One Foot In The Grave.

The plots are still fiendishly clever, but the casting is wrong.
I agree. I just didn't like the last episodes. They didn't seem to go together somehow. I much preferred it when he was with the other one and I can't remember her name!
Caroline Quentin from Men Behaving Badly. She was good.
Yes, that's her, jackdaw. Thanks.
