vauxhall corsa key fob

i have a Y reg vauxhall corsa (2001) with central locking using the key fob. the problem is, i can open the car pressing the key, but it wont lock the car, i have to do it with the actual key. i went to vauxhall and they said they would charge me �50 just to investigate the problem, not even fix it. i've tried changing the battery and synchronising it (as it says in the manual) but its still not working.

does anybody have a clue? thanks

I have repaired many Corsa key remote fobs. Usually I find that the microswitch has been removed fron the circuit board by use. It takes a little time and soldering to fix.

what do u suggest i do? take it back to vauxhall and pay more than 50 quid?
