Hi! Where did we get to?

Me: I'm down to 86.5 - so the "being hungry and doing exercise" thing seems to be continuing to work. Another 4KG and I'll reassess my goals.

Things I have learnt during this period of, er, decline:

* There is such a thing as a cheese hangover. I've never felt so bad as when I made a tartiflette - which was lovely - the next day it was like I'd had a bottle of whisky.
* The same goes for excessive carbs through bread - deadly. I didn't know I could dry myself out!
* Stopping drinking, for any amount of time, is bad for your future drinking habits. Avoid competitions!
* I bloodly love salads, do you want some recipes?

Right, your turn(s)!

I am usually away at Xmas with family so I stop weighing a few days prior and don't start again until I get back. It therefore shows up as a period of slope rather than step, but with no readings between the start and end of the period.

Xmas 14/New Year 15 is a very noticeable step that never really was lost. I went up around 6 or 7 lbs, or thereabouts. Xmas 15/New Year 16 is less noticeable and arguably near to recovered. There is a lot of "noise" as the readings jump up and down but I seem to still be around 2 to 3 lbs heavier, more or less, than I was.

Trouble is that although the general trend seems fairly level, over the longer term it is gently upwards. Annoyingly in April 2014 I was a mere 3.5 lbs away from my goal, but I never reached it. I'm now 29.5 lbs away.

Making a special effort (not 100% successfully) not to eat between meals now. Distracting though that is. At least I have some fruit in now for when it becomes too much, and hopefully that'll be less fattening: if less satisfying too.
Today, I am wearing a pair or size 14 Levi jeans. I have had these jeans for eight years and they are now beautifully soft and comfortable. I don't struggle to zip up the zip and they fit really well. I don't care about calories, weight or BMI. If my jeans still fit, comfortably, I'm ok.
You seem to be getting something right without any need to try to work out what you're getting wrong. You'll have to tell me your secret ;-)
I don't have a secret, OG.
Good morning all,

As expected I've gained over Easter but not quite as much as expected so there is a small ray of sunshine on the far horizon.

Off to the naughty step now.
Up yet another blooming pound :-(

I had a decent day yesterday, hoped the reading would fall; but no. It stayed exactly the same as yesterday.

(Went up slightly Friday morning. A massive jump Saturday morning, and has been falling slowly ever since; until this morning that is.)

O_G - thanks for the stats breakdown - it sounds depressing, and I know mine would look that same. I haven't been below 86kg solidly for probably 2 years.

At least you're not alone on it!

Tilly - I see you're using the universal measurement system of "old jeans". Perversely, I have a new pair of jeans from Christmas 2014 I'd like to wear, which never happened. I can just about get into them this year, but would like them to be comfortable!
My sister has just started a diet. She shamed herself as well as hoping for lots of encourage by posting her weight on FB.

She lost 6.5 lbs on her first week.
Good morning all,

I've managed to stay the same but I don't deserve to.

Good for your sister ummmm. At the start of any "diet" we tend to loose a lot of water so that large loss will slow down but it is certainly a great incentive to keep going.

Same is ok. I'm the same as yesterday.

Down 1.6 lbs over the week, here. Confusingly most lost over the high intake weekend.
Good Morning well can't complain as its my usual stay the again .Well done for your sister ummmm as xstitcher says there is always a big loss for a start .Hope she continues .Plenty healthy eating is the answer .plan her meals for the week .
You're going in the right direction OG. IT SEEMS LIKE Wendilla and I are just marking time but I expected much worse. I don't think there is any junk food left in the house now.
