We have a 6 month old daughter who is developing quite well in all aspects, she has a particular fondness to rolling over and now has adopted this during her sleep. We try to monitor her by rolling her back but this wakes her and then she becomes grumpy. I know she shouldn't sleep like this but I have been told that since she can rollover she can roll back. I am worried about her.

babies need to sleep on their backs until they are old enough to roll over, so i wouldnt worry too much now, if you are still worried then speak to your health visitor, my son slept on his tummy from 6 months and within minutes of rolling him over he would go back again, it got exhausting until my health visitor said to leave him!

I know you worry, but please try not to ~ as boobesque quite rightly says, once a baby can roll over there is little you can do to make sure they sleep on their backs.

Hope this helps :o)

I know you're worrying but all of my children ave done exactly the same thing, excellent advice from boobesque and pippa, you'll just have to view it as another of her milestones and try not to worry.

To boobesque, Pippa68 and noxlumos, thanks for your advice, I suppose with her being the apple of my eye I worry too much. I suppose that her being able to roll over is a good milestone. Thanks again.

I know you are already reassured but I would just like to reiterate what others have said. My daughter slept on her front from about 6mths onwards with no problems at all, try not to worry :o)
first time parenting is a maze of questions and worries! having somewhere to ask those little things is great, hope we managed to ease your mind a little!

My son had the same problem i went to a local baby store and bought a pillow like thing they sleep in the does not allow them to roll over onto thier bellies! It worked awesome! babys r us has them check it out!

I was worried about my daughter too when she was a baby but I found if she was in a situation where she couldn't breath or was uncomfortable she would cry out. Also to stop me panicing I put a crochered blanket on her. Since it had holes in it if she worked her way under it was less of a threat and I could hear her better if she cried.
