hi all

i have a problem, i have a 7 yr old to be next week but have no real ideas want on earth to get her for her birthday.

the main problem is that i also have 2 9 and 10 yr old girls and so all their toys etc.. have been passed down. usually i can find something she really wants or needs but apart from "new" clothes, i'm stuck.

shes having a princess party and i know what i'm doing for that, but what do i get her for her birthday?

help me please, i'm running out of time !!!!!!

What about a bike,scooter,mini-trampoline,kids cd player with kiddie disco cd's,girls world, board games, dvd's,kareoke machine.??
what about agift from the oxfam catalogue and a present for herself
If Im stuck for what to get a child, I get something like a craft or a kit of something to make as I find that always seems to go do well. Theres some great kits like, jewelry making, decorating picture frames/jewelry boxes, painting you own piggy-banks. Woolworths are great for finding that sort of thing. Hope some of these suggestions help you xx
how about a years subscription to her favourite magasine? Brownies do a magasine as do guides and also my daughter gets a really good one called Aquila. It is jam packed full of stories, puzzles, games, arts and crafts etc and no make up tips, celeb goss or pin up in sight. I really like this comic.

SHe also girl talk which is a bit more like the above isn't, but relatively inoccuous in comparison to some other tweeny mags.

Hope this helps
love

I was going to say a jewellery making set, but MM already suggested it. Or see if you can find a Mr Freeze where it makes slush, great fun and practical as the weather improves.

And if all else fails something pink perhaps!

jewellrey box and girlie watch, pogo stick, electronic diary,,,
Why not take her pn a special trip just for the two of you (without her sisters) depending on what she enjoys you could take her horseriding or for a day in the park with a picnic or to the theatre etc etc.

Or maybe offer to take her shopping to show you think she is grown up enough to choose her own present or toy.

A pet?

thanks for these, but she has - thanks to her sisters hand me downs - a bike, a scooter, a 10ft trampoline, cd player, computer and loads of cd's and board games. we are a craft family so have making stuff as an everyday thing.

she is only 7 so doesnt read magazines particularly yet.

we already have cats and dogs and fish and chickens - no more pets!!!!

please carry on with the suggestions - I 'm running out of time.

what about adopting an animal from the World Wildlife Fund? I did this for my son when he was about 8 with a gorilla - he got photo's newsletters, certificate etc and he was thrilled

Hi meltoadhall

have just seen your post and had a little chuckle! we are on daughter no4 and have the same problem for presents. No3 was 5 last month and we bought her a "grown up" vanity case as she loves make up, also some glittery hair spray from Claires accessories which she adores, and just a few other bits and bobs.Luckily it's quantity of presents that matter not value for our girls! Good Luck!

My daughter adopted a monkey for her daughter at Monkey world and then took her on a trip to visit it and take photo's. Great Hit! also it can be renewed for other birthdays etc.
