referring to andy hughes suggestion, run the water as hot as you can stand it, then soak a flannel and ring it a couple of times.Saturate it again, take a breath, hold it tightly over face, pressing as much to skin as possible, uncluding under nose(hence holding breath)
repeat.
now rub foam/gel in thoroughly for a minute
Shave downwards at all times, using long slow strokes. Rinse blade after each stroke. Tidy up missed bits with short strokes, do not press on let the blade work.

Rinse face with tepid water and pat do not rub dry

Use a good moisturiser, do not put cologn or aftershave on face. If you want to smell good, rub it into forehead and a dab on each jawbone under your ears will have the same effect
I used to get a rash every day until I changed my razor. Since I started using the Gillette Mach 3 I've not had any problems. I also use King of Shaves gel which is not particularly cheap but is very good. You can get a free sample here

Thanks Dan, I was just about to trot all that out again - saved me the trouble!

I also use Gillette Mach 3 - if you take your time, don;t press on too hard, let the blade do the work, and change your blade every three shaves at least, you should be fine.

Also try using shaving products for sensitive skin. Anything with alcohol in it will irritate your skin post-shaving, so go for a soothing aftershave balm instead of ordinary aftershave.

Oh and there's a prooduct called Tend Skin for shaving rash, it's supposed to be really good, though as far as I can tell it's just aspirin for topical application.

Or take a tip from the ladies and use hair removal cream.Just slap it all over your fact ,have a rest for 3 minutes and rinse off.All the hair has gone.Go on, no one will know and even if they do David Beckham is know to use hair removal cream so it can't be that bad.
