My better half had a back operation recently so we had assistance with our baggage this weekend travelling to and from Edinburgh - the service was perfect,someone at the train door exactly where we were, taking us to our connection, even getting us a seat on a non-booked 20 minute journey - can't praise Virgin staff enough, all were chatty and cheerful - full marks.Anyone else in our position is thoroughly recommended to do this,and thanks again to Buenchico who originally told us about it

Its nice to read about a good news story for once...perhaps we should have a special heading here on AB for all such stories !

Of all the TOCs which I've used (and it's quite a few) I think Virgin is the best. The only time I could fault them is on one occasion many years ago when their service to Portsmouth Harbour was running late so they turned it round one station short at Portsmouth & Southsea so all the many passengers for the Harbour and IOW had to lug their heavy cases from the lower level up to the higher level at Portsmouth & Southsea station to catch an alternative train. But I put this down to them following the old tradition that a Virgin never goes all the way.

I wrote a long compliment to Stenaline, who prepared a special fat free meal for me on both legs of my journey.

They thanked me very much and said they don't get compliments in writing so if I was you pop it in writing for Virgin they will appreciate it.
