Hi there
My cat has always been fussy but just recently it has got worse. She is driving me to distraction. Since the weekend she refused to eat anything and was very huffy at me because I had no dreamies. I gave her some only 5 at a time and my mother cooked chicken for her which she totally loves and it was gone in minutes now she wont look at her cat food which she has eaten before. Have we made a mistake with this cooked chicken ??!!

she will eat when hungry...keep the cooked chicken as an occasional treat...it was grilled liver with mine !
Yes, lol.
No. Most people give their pets treats. Cats are known for suddenly going off a certain brand of food.
Cats are, by nature, bullies. Many of them have worked out how to get what they want and they can be pretty persistent.

Giving her chicken all the time isn't a good diet and she would get fed up of it and demand something else.

Dreamies are great as a treat.

Be brave and stand your ground, put her cat food in her bowl and she will eat it eventually. There is nothing wrong with her - she is just a cat and cats were born to be annoying. ☺☺☺

I think you must be mistaken. Try a little experiment. Put down nothing but her usual pet food for a month and see if she is still refusing it at the end. If she is, try another month just to be sure.
She is manipulating you - cats are experts!!

Leave down dried food she will eat it when she is hungry.

My cat became very like this. I cooked chicken and salmon for her. At times we would have several bowels on the floor with different food. I think they are in charge!!
OG and divebuddy - its the endless whining, meowing, staring and use of claws and teeth that wears us, mere, humans down.

Gordie loves his cat very much and it is hard to ignore them when they start manipulating. The frequency of a 'pitiful' feed me meow is the same as that of a baby. It is almost impossible to ignore. Even snarling at them doesn't work.

Some say that about their kids too.
