Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone could offer any advice on this...we have recently moved to a new place and our cats have now settled in however sinced we have been there one of the cats nearby keeps coming into our house. Its a really sweet cat and means no harm however one of my cats is getting quite distressed by it and will now not go out of the house! I have tried flicking a bit of water on the cat to make it leave - I really don't like even doing that! Is there any friendly solutions to deter it or for it go get the message that it can't come into our house? At the moment I have the cat flap locked and let the cats out when they want to go outside. Please help, many thanks.

You can get those magnetic cat flaps where the cat has to be wearing a magnet on his collar to be able to get in....maybe you could try that?
I think that a water pistol is your best option besides secluding your own kitty which i am sure you don't want to do. It is a shame that the two don't get along. I haven't heard of anything that would keep the cat out of your house and still allow yours to come and go as they please.

Definately get a magnetic cat flap. I did after waking one night to find a large ginger tomcat in my spare room and my little kitty clinging to the top of the curtains!

I got one from Argos for about 20 and have had no problem since.
