my economy 7 heating has stopped working desite being switched on, is it run from a fuse box? if so what colour fuse??

It certainly it will have a fuse or an MCB (electronic type 'fuse') in the circuit, and this will either be as part of the main Consumer Unit or maybe one next to it. Circuits can vary in the wiring capacity, a couple of storage radiators might have a 15A fuse (which is a blue cartridge). Or it could be a bigger circuit with a 30A fuse (which is red).
