As a mature sports person my range of movement is fairly limited, pretty much TV remote buttons and AB sports section............not alot of help am I? sorry :)

An older person would probably have a reduced range of movement compared to a young, supple person.

Not

Not sure if there would be a huge amount of difference in the ROM between an elite/amateur, presuming that both are reasonably fit?

An older athlete has a slower reaction time which is the main thing that affects them.if they can't kick the ball as fast than they will not be as good as they used to be.Often their muscles are just as supple as all the young ones.
