Whenever I search a program on Limewire, 90 odd per cent of rthe esults will be virus ridden zip files according to my AVG. Is this indeed the case or is AVG being a little overprotective? Example..from 114 results for Autoroute there were only 2 that didn't attract AVG's attention and they were also the only two of roughly the right size file! All the rest were far too small even for zip files.

I've never used LimeWire, but have heard it's very virus ridden. Check the size of the fiels you're downloading, as the ones that don't seem right aren't!
Pretty much all of the P2P networks are like this.

My advice would be to use BitTorrent instead. Plenty of torrent search engines like torrentspy.com, and you'll find what you want.

If you do decide to try BitTorrent (maybe you have already?), then give Azureus a go:

I'd expect it to be ridden with viruses and worse. Don't use Limewire at all, especially to find a program that you're going to install on your PC.

Honestly, you'd be asking for trouble.
can u get music from these??
lots of friends i know use limewire without any probs - depending where you read some recommend it as the safest, however, i did get rebooting probs when using limewire but no virus was detected by my av.It is very comprehensive for music
