Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
Sherwood was not in control of the ridiculous buy to sell players for profit
regime.
You should think out the usual box and make a play for Hasselbaink.
Always wondered if the term 'think out of the box' was directed at cricketers
No daisy that is thinking in the box, for spectators. Not me though I used to play.
So did I
so did Villa.

He may get a chance to find out after the Mighty Potters have ridden roughshod all over his southern jessies when they venture up to t'north this evening for a lesson in proper football.

(BTW, I am quoting the present Mrs Hughes - Stoke fanatic - on this - I actually have no idea what I am talking about!)
You just listen to the Mrs, she sounds like a shrewd lady. Up the Potters. Mind you we cant be worse than Saturday. Shawcross the colossus back. Eat more oatcakes andy.
Probably fit into Notts. Forest quite well....

The present Mrs Hughes has only just about come down off the ceiling after the debacle that was Saturday's effort.

We went to Blackpool on Sunday, so I spent the entire journey hearing the shortfalls in Stoke's defensive strategy dissected and analysed in brain crushing detail.

If they lose tonight, I shall be staying in a local hotel!!!!
LOL. andy hughes. I have not read a newspaper or watched any of the football replays unless I get a glimpse, in error, of the footage or write ups. Once a Potter always a Potter. Shawcross and Wollscheid can become our 'new' Smith and Bloor.

As with the present Mrs Hughes's frequent discourses on the minutia of her beloved team, I shall have to smile and nod politely, and hope that my rampant ignorance remains undetected!
Oh I wouldn't worry about that andy hughes, we Potters consider everyone who is not 'of the faith' as ignorant of the blatant facts. I fully expect that Mrs H has explained in forceful detail the way that the offside laws can only be interpreted to favour the cause of our beloved Potters.

I common with a lot of football fans, Mrs Hughes is of the firm opinion that any official on the field is only there in order to blatantly bias the game in favour of the opponents of the day!
