Replacing Eyes with something else

Can anyone think of any examples of art, whether commerical or otherwise, where the eyes/ iris/ pupils have been replaced with something else instead? I'd be particularly interested in old pictures...

Check out Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" comic series (should be in most fair sized book stores in Graphic Novel format). One character - "The Corinthian" - has teeth where his eyes should be. Can't remember which volume you need to look at, I'm afraid.

TW - exactly right! LeMarchand - I have all of the Sandman (indeed all of Gaimen's stuff period - love the guy) but I'm not thinking of where eyes have been replaced so much. Think along the lines of Jean Michel Jarre's Magnetic Fields, where the irises are actually the Earth, and you'll know where I'm coming from.
