splattered with bird droppings

my house, windows and driveway are totally splattered with bird droppings. I've never had such a problem before to this extent. My neighbour has bird feeders in his garden but they don't do the business round his house - just mine!! There is no point saying anything to him as he is not very friendly and I doubt I could make him remove the bird feeders(they are just seeds, he doesn't throw out any bread).

What I want to know is how can I deter the birds from doing this over my house and what is the best way to clean it up?

Deterring them will be difficult - birds tend to take off, and poop as they fly, so that's why you are 'enjoying' the results of their benefactor.

Try stringing strips of cooking foil from bean poles along your border, may distract them and send them the other way.

We know somebody who was equally plagued by this problem. They solved it by erecting a plastic owl on the edge of their roof which seems to have solved their bird dropping problem fairly effectively.
