a phone call from microsoft -apparently all my computers will crash within the hour! I told him how happy I was he had called and he got quite excited about helping me,then a bit confused when I started speaking French -then probably a bit more excited when I offered to give him the sort code and account number of my secret off shore account.........the one with my 6 million pound lottery win. Poor sod I hope they haven't had to resuscitate him Do people really fall for this?

Some do or they would have stopped doing them by now, they only need to catch one in a thousand or so.

Thank god I answered the phone and not the OH -then again he probably would have said 'hang in she does all the stuff with the computer in this house' LoL!

It has cured me of ever wanting to do internet banking
and I have to rotate my passwords

Unfortunately it is vulnerable people like my 86year old Mum who only has a lap top for emails and to look at Amazon. She believed them as she had no idea how computers work and they said it was infected with a virus and would stop working but they kindly told her they could help if she gave them remote access (though those were not the words they used) they took £400 from her fortunately I was able to remove the programme they downloaded onto her computer and the bank has made sure they cannot take any more money though they could not refund what she had already given them as she gave them her card details. There are some very evil people in this world.

I have a friend and she had the call about her computer fault. She engaged the person on the phone and let him rabbit on for about half an hour explaining all of the problems and what she needed to do. Then hit him with her punch line. What you have told me is OK but I DON'T HAVE A COMPUTER!!
