I have had to move out of my house whilst building work is carried out after a burst pipe caused extensive water damage to much of the house. The work is covered by our insurance company who have been excellent. They have said we will be entitled to an allowance for being out of the house and will discuss a daily amount with us once we are back in and they know how long it has been. (app 14 days) What would be a reasonable/typical allowance to claim given that we have been staying with relatives?
