I would inquire at your GP surgery asap, I think it would be in your best interests to have it. Is it safe to travel in that area?

Really did not think we would be stopping there but apparently, Thomson are back to normal from 3 march 2011 and all excursions will take place as normal !
Went to Egypt two years ago, cruising up the Nile from Luxor. Checked with my G.P. to be told that no jabs were necessary. Survived.(Though the animals and figures made out of the pillow cases and my clothes not hidden away were somewhat scary)
Hope you have a wonderful trip. Where else do you make port?
I had a hep jab when I went there for 2 weeks, but for a short stop you might not want to bother. No Inoculations are compulsory when traveling to Egypt, but the following are advisable:
Tetanus, Diphtheria, Polio, Typhoid, Hepatitis A (some people have the hepatitis B jab).
Whatever you decide, drink and clean your teeth only in bottled water and drink plenty of it.

Here's the official guidance, from NaTHNaC:

From the route you describe the ship would be docking at Alexandria, where you will be given excursions to Fort Bey, the underground mausoleum around Pompey's Pillar, the Library, and the excavated 'Villa of the Birds', followed by a fish restaurant, then back to the ship.
It is a huge rambling city. Even before the troubles, Alex was mostly very poor housing and mostly unpaved - it has in the past been a magnificent place but is literally falling apart. There is one small area of the seafront that is semi-tarted up.
I expect if the cruise ship stps there you wil be made very welcome and as always, every attempt will be made to part you from your cash without threats or violence.

Michael Palin describes the seafront architecture as 'Cannes with acne'.
I've never had a hep jab for visiting Egypt and don't believe I have suffered (expires vilely three seconds later...)
don't bother. I've been to Egypt several times and never had any jabs. Avoid salads and undercooked meats and water that isn;t in bottles and you'll be fine.
