By the time electric cars are prevalent enough to be a problem, humans will have, through technology and laziness, (d)evolved to the stage where legs aren't needed. Hence, no pedestrians.

I don't see the problem, how many people use only their ears when crossing a road?

Our eyes are our primary road safety sense, ears are secondary
