I saw this in my paper this morning.Although it is an amazing thing to happen for these people it must be dreadful for anyone who has had a "stillborn".They will spend forever wondering,what if??

I have to admit-my first 'fear' was that this baby might have brain damage. But to read that he is now a healthy 5 month old is wonderful. It shows how strong the physical bond,AND a mothers instincts are.

I have vague recollections of something like this happening with a kitten or a puppy. But I just can't think when or where.

Tasty...but a majority of parents know their child will be stillborn beforehand.

My brothers little boy was stillborn,he was kicking like crazy just before sister in law went into labour and they were so excited at the prospect of meeting him.He was born dead and whisked away before she had chance to see him.My brother and mother went to see him and he was laid out on a cold slab dressed in a little white gown.There was no explanation for him not being born alive and healthy they were just told "It happens".

its great to hear he is now a healthy baby, but was he without o2 for any length of time ? it would be interesting to know if he is problem free.

Both babies were shown on the news today. They are now 5 months old. He certainly doesn't look like a five month baby, and his eyes don't look quite right. However I am not an expert and they were very premature. I hope he is OK

could you see a difference physically between him and his sister?

they do put kittens or puppies with the mother when they are dying so the mother can lick them and warm them up. Surely its natural for the mother to hold the baby afterwards anyway, so this story doesnt surprise me at all.

theres a pic of him here, he doesnt look much different to most newborns, and seeing as he would really only be 1-2 months old if born when he was due then its not surprising.
