It can be extremely difficult to pack in. I went on a New Leaf course, and it certainly worked - with ease - but without smokers, the government'd be running round with their heads up their bums, wondering how else to generate such vast amounts of money from the hefty taxation.
No - some of my husband's friends smoke, and if they want to - fair enough.
I think the smoking ban in pubs is a good idea...you get to chat to other smokers outside...although the chat is repetitive..."Not the same smoking outside is it"?
But it must be unpleasant in the winter!! I don't know why they didn't keep smoke rooms, instead of turning most of the pubs I know into glorified restaurants.
elvis I have not been in a pub since the smoking ban and my social life has not suffered at all...........many good parties at various venues with no 'adult' supervision.....and cheaper beer..........
A friend of mine decided to cut down on his smoking by having a cigarette after each meal.
when I last asked how it was going, he replied "not bad,I'm down to 15 meals a day".
You might have a point there teram! I've certainly had more sniffles since I stopped.
Yes pink - I think most pubs provide some kind of shelter from the elements, although most of these have open sides, so it'd still be rather cold to stand out side, even with a heater, which I guess most crowd around.
Having said that....shhhh...I know of a little pub that's refused to bend to the rules. Even the local policeman has one!
