If on a UK passport, and using visa waiver, you can stay for 90 days or less.
Try reading this for useful info.

You will also need to apply online for ESTA before you go, which will last for 2 years.

kl thanks for that.im used to esta as i have been twice this yr already!!! any ideas on how long i have to return to gb b4 bein allowed to revisit for 90 days?????
There is no set period when you can return after having spent 90 days and left. It's at the discretion of the immigration officer on the day.

Frequent short trips may be looked on more favourably than a few long ones - the latter might be construed as trying to immigrate on the quiet.

If you are really going to visit a lot getting a proper visa might be best - though even here they can get fed up with near permanent stays.

thx for all your help,:)
If you are coming and going, immigration may try to give you a hard time in case they suspect you are trying to work or to illegally emigrate. Pre planning will help. Take evidence with you of strong ties to the UK to prove you are going to come back here. I.e evidence of a job waiting if you have one, likewise of a mortgage, or anything else like that.
Also helps to take bank statements with decent funds in to show you can support yourself and that you wont be trying to get work out there, and airtickets back to the Uk at the end of your trip, even if they are open ended.
