i have just realised i am not brave at all, I wimpered like a scardy cat when the doc injected the anaesthetic into my tongue, i am now in alot of pain and can't speak much and dosed up on soluble anadin extra, I thought I could tolerate pain but nope, I'm a wuss. Mind you i didn;t feel anything when he cut the lump away, the injection worked instantly.
The reason I didnlt ask on here beforehand what it woukld be like is because i didn;t want to be scared, and I don;t want to scare anyone else, but it is very very painful, even though it only took seconds for the injection, i had a panic attack before they managed to talk me into having it done, my daughter was with me otherwise I would have bolted.
Anaesthetic injections in the roof of your mouth are equally as painful Dot. I hate anything like that and would have been just like you, wimpering like a big wuss.lol
What was the lump you had removed from your tongue?
I hope you feel better soon.x
Stop being so hard on yourself Dot! I was squirming and sucking my tongue whilst reading what you put! You are very brave having it done, I got so worked up about having a tooth out I burst into tears and wouldn't let him inject me (I have a phobia of needles) then when he did I burst into tears and walking home I couldn't stop crying from relief that it was over, I was more worried about the injection than the actual tooth being pulled out!
At least it is over now and you can put it behind you. I was thinking of you this morning whilst I was at work :o)
I had a series of root canal treatment - 3 times in row, the dentist hit the nerve in my cheek when giving the injection - it is like an electric shock across you tongue and you get a weird mettalic taste in your mouth. Each time he did it, he said "oh, did I hit the nerve - that occaisionally happens" - He was quite impressed that he had managed it 3 times in row - I wasn't!!!
Anyhoo, very well done - hope you get good news soon.
Men are just as bad logic. Mrpuss went for a blood test, when he came home he was holding his arm as if he'd had a major operation, he kept the plaster on for 6 hours and then I had to full it off as he couldn't bear to do it himself, now that's a wuss.
Dot your are very brave, I hope all is well with the tests, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
lol, yes i know, at the moment I am an hour from being able to take any more pain killers and I am in alot of pain as my tongue is now swollen and the stitches are stretching, I shall continue being a wuss all night and let you know how bad it gets on an hourly basis, serves you right for being so unsympathetic lol
