Visit Hard Rock Cafe fantastic
Visit Dahab further up the coast , less touristy
try googling for this site TOUR EGYPT
yeh dahab is great. At nama bay (where rock cafe is) there is also a bar called the camel bar - beautiful roof terrace, below it is a great indian restaurant too - sitting under the stars it is amazing. Not sure how keen you are to travel while there but we did a trip to Mount Sinai and climbed it up in time for sunrise - amazing. It was about a 3 hour drive (arranged by tour company) then you climbed for approx 3 hours. I say climbed - it was a kind of path. Need to be reasonably fit but I am certainly no hill climber. There were children doing it and there are also parts there camels will carry you if you are struggling. The view will stay with me for ever. Also did an overnighter to Cairo - again left early hours of morning and went by bus, spent day in Cairo and then travelled back. Some people say better to fly but we got stories of people hanging about the airport where as we took blanket and pillow on bus and had good sleep. Cairo was not what I expected, quite horrible really but pyramids were amazing - almost in the middle of slums!! Other than that we just lazed about the hotel - were only there for a week!
Nice revue J 10

Iam thinking about doing a cruse and stay next at sharm el sheikh

may i be cheeky and ask is their any local shops where you can get cheap wine in S EL S . As I like a tipple on a night whilst on my holls.

ps you should have put this on trip advisor
Never been but thinking of going November time, perhaps you could give me your views on Egypt weather food etc when you get back. ENJOY!!
atsgran > I'm not going till next year so maybe you can give me some views when you get back
Have something on your feet for walking into the sea in Sharm - over the dead coral - it's extremely difficult and pretty painful without - and take tissues or toilet paper for use at Sharm airport. There are no toilet rolls - a lady just hands you one square of paper as you go into the loo!

Diving is spectacular - as is snorkling, even just off the beach! Enjoy!!!
Blue and white taxis are falling apart and wouldn't be allowed on our roads but they are cheap, they beep thir horns constantly, don't use headlights, use hazzard lights to sop and don't stop on crossings, are you getting the picture !! a limosine is a 'normal' car, Naama' Bay is like blackpool, Egyptians are lovely and you will feel safe there. Altough they do tend to get on your nerves asking you to come inside their shop for their 'busness card' they just want to sell you something. food is about the same price as here, however there are some really cheap 'Bars' I think there is just 1 English bar the rest are egyptian, and as they don't drink they don't really know that beer should be ice cold!! but you can get some good food in them and cheap too.
I,ve stayed at the Marriott twice and the Jolie Movenpick Golf and resort once the workers are all male except for very few admin staff which are female and cleaners are the best! Shokran means thanks and they will appreicate this!
Most 5* Hotels are fantastic. Tip at breakfast and they will remember you the next day, little and often, is best.... they only earn about 50 pounds a month.
Entertainment at the hotels is belly dancing or awful singers not the best entertainment. Go to see the pyrimids they are awesome it about 200 each to fly and takes an hour, Cairo is unbelievable. the weather is gorgeous all the time but can get cold in the evenings say from november ish... hope this helps ...... you will love it. The camel trip was a bit drab, dinner is included don'y expect to much The Bedoiun people are to me Egyptian Gypsies, Camel's... have a photo on one which they will ask you for money, then they will walk off with you on the camel and ask for money saying that you.ve had a ride!
They have stopped the begging at the airport but the cleaners will ask for money in the toilets she will prob have a 1 coin in her hand this is 10 nour money out there!! Don't be tight,10p to us is a
sorry dustypuss had not looked on this thread recently. There were certainly little shops that sold wine etc but we were all inclusive at the hotel so did not bother to check out prices - ie we were getting enough where we were!
