No, Eire is not part of the UK. Depending on which country you are from, you may have to get a visa from the Irish Embassy.
You should be able to get to Northern Ireland with your UK visa and travel from there to southern Ireland without a visa but you would probably be classed as illegal.
wasnt there a time when you didnt need a passport if you were british or from eire to travel to each others country???
The country is called Ireland. Eire is its name in Irish. I cannot understand why people do this all the time. You wouldn't call Germany Deutschland would you.
Is Eire the Irish name for Ireland as in the whole island? Or is it the name for just the Republic of Ireland?
